The Toronto Hurons beat the Twin Cities Northmen, 7-3, at Twin Cities Stadium. The win was due in part to third baseman Dave Browning, who was 2 for 3 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Toronto pitcher Mike Beers got the win. He's now 6-8. Bob Freeland was tagged with the loss. The Hurons go to 37-56 with the win.
Toronto used the hitting of Max Lasseter to pick up the win. The first baseman clubbed a solo home run in the top of the second inning to put the Hurons on top, 1-0. For the game, Lasseter had 1 home run and 1 single in 3 at-bats.
"It was a solid, all-around game for us," said Toronto manager Jim Burns.
