Blockbusters right fielder Oscar Gonzalez put his stamp on his team's 5-4 win over the Philadelphia Quakers. Gonzalez went 3-4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs for Los Angeles in the contest. Billy Duprey, the winner, is now 8-9. He struck out 3 and walked 3 over 7 innings, while allowing 4 runs on 11 hits. Wayne Guilmette notched his 3rd save of the season.

Los Angeles won the game in part because of Ken Frederick. The second baseman ripped a 2-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Blockbusters ahead, 2-0. For the game, Frederick had 1 double and 1 home run in 5 at-bats.

"You get some opportunities, you better take advantage of them," said Philadelphia manager Jeff Green.

The win lifted the Los Angeles record to 48-45.
