Northmen Deal Drillers 7-4 Loss
|
The Twin Cities Northmen defeated the Houston Drillers, 7-4, in 10 innings at Sam Houston Field. Greg Clement pulled his weight. The 9-year veteran was 1-3 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 and driving in 3. Rick Lindstrom picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 6-7. Jeff Ferguson, who is tied for 3rd in the ABL in holds with 7, was tagged with the loss. The Drillers, at 46-49, have lost 6 straight games.
Twin Cities used the timely hitting of Steve Pavey to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Northmen on top, 5-4. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
