The Houston Drillers racked up a win at Twin Cities Stadium, bumping off the Twin Cities Northmen, 4-2, in 10 innings. Syed Farooqi, who started for Houston, pitched effectively for his team. The win went to Warner Manning in relief, making him now 3-3. Curt Kirkley took the loss for Twin Cities. With the win, the Drillers have a record of 51-45.

Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Mark Sisson? The 1970 Most Valuable Player Award winner Sisson stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the tenth inning to put Houston up, 3-2. For the game, he was 3 for 5, including 2 doubles and 1 single.
