The Kansas City Bulls had to overcome a good performance from Chicago pitcher Skip Crawford to claim a 3-2 win at Union Field. Crawford went 9 innings and allowed 3 runs. Kansas City reliever Don Callahan was the winner. His record is now 2-1. Skip Crawford took the loss. Chicago's current losing streak is now 6 games.

Kansas City used the timely hitting of Dave Lester to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Bulls on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"That's baseball," said Chicago manager Larry Link. "You're not always going to be hitting on all cylinders."
