In a tight affair between the Denver Burros and the Los Angeles Blockbusters, pitcher John Suozzo was in the zone. The Denver right-hander helped his team win the game, 3-0. The Burros, now 8-2, have had a terrific start to the season.

The game was at a stalemate until right fielder Jim Bitting came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Los Angeles pitcher Tom Benson, he hit a 0-2 fastball for a 2-run single. It was a game-changer, putting Denver on top, 2-0.

"I was trying to do what I do, go out there and compete," said Suozzo.
