Burros Hurler Purter Tosses Masterpiece
The New York Knickerbockers met their match today in Denver hurler Willie Purter. He kept them guessing the whole game and spun a 3-hit shutout.

"He just worked us over," New York skipper Timothy Widholm said. "He probably didn't even need a shower after the game -- he barely worked up a sweat."

In the 2-0 victory, Purter whiffed 5 and gave up 2 walks.
