San Diego Captains starter Dario Fontanez turned in a top-notch performance against the Washington Eagles at Monument Field. The result was a win for the Captains, 9-2. Fontanez, who finished 3rd in the NBL in strikeouts with 173 in 1970, went the distance for San Diego. He gave up 2 runs on 6 hits.
