Empires Down Emeralds, 6-4
|
The New York Empires defeated the Seattle Emeralds, 6-4, in American Baseball League action at Puget Field. New York pitcher Nate Frampton had a standout performance. Frampton got the win, improving to 9-5. He allowed 6 hits and walked 1 over 8 innings. Frampton allowed 3 runs. Chuck Hinck earned his 19th save in 20 tries.
New York used the timely hitting of Randy Colbourne to capture the win. The third baseman socked a 3-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Empires ahead, 4-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.
