The Cincinnati Packers had to overcome a fine effort from Denver pitcher Bruce Cardenas to win, 5-4, in 11 innings at Roman Arena. Cardenas went 7.2 innings and allowed 4 runs. The win gives the Packers a record of 31-68.

The Packers got a clutch hit from left fielder Glenn Palmer. In the bottom of the 11th, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Packers.

"It's what good teams do, find a way to win," said Palmer.
