Bobcats Prevail, 10-8, Over Washington
|
Washington shortstop Gary Long had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 10-8, to Cleveland at Monument Field. Long was 3 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2. The losing streak for Washington has now reached 5 games.
Cleveland used the hitting of Harold Batkin to pick up the win. The first baseman clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Bobcats on top, 5-1. For the game, Batkin had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"It was offense that won us the game," said winning manager Daniel Mays.
