Alan Romano was instrumental in his team's 7-6, extra-inning triumph over the Washington Eagles. The right fielder was 4-5 with 2 doubles and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3 for the Cleveland Bobcats. The win went to Mike Chernock in relief, making him now 1-0. Bruce Grossman took the loss for Washington. The win puts Cleveland at 49-48 this season.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the 11th inning, when Cleveland catcher Fred Johnson, facing Bruce Grossman, had a run-scoring walk. It gave the Bobcats the 7-6 win.
