New York Blanks Seattle, 3-0
|
Larry Stanford kept the Seattle Emeralds hitters from doing much damage at Queens Field.
Seattle could only muster 1 hit and draw no walks against the left-handed Stanford, who controlled them throughout the game. New York won the contest, 3-0. Stanford added 6 strikeouts in his complete-game effort.
"I don't know if I was on or if they were off today," Stanford told reporters after the shutout win. "But whatever it was, I hope it happens again next time."
His record this season is 11-6 in 21 starts and Stanford has a 2.75 ERA.
