Eagles Deal Industrials 6-2 Defeat
Washington and Pittsburgh got after it at Allegheny Field.

Washington starter Ed Frederick had a strong outing against the Pittsburgh Industrials at Allegheny Field. The left-hander was a big part of his team's 6-2 win. Frederick, now 5-7, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 8 hits, while striking out 4, walking 4, and allowing 2 runs.

Washington used a well-timed hit by John Ellison to capture the win. The first baseman socked a 2-run double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Eagles ahead, 2-1. Though it was his only hit in 3 at-bats, it was important.

Ellison called the win "a collective effort."

The last-place Eagles are now 47-52, the Industrials 68-32.
