Gaultney Shackles Philadelphia
|
Goose eggs were the order of the day for the Philadelphia Quakers as starter Dave Gaultney shut them out, 3-0, at Quakers Stadium. The Brooklyn pitcher struck out 4 and walked 1 while allowing 3 hits.
"Gaultney was good but he wasn't flawless," Philadelphia manager Jeff Green said. "We had a few opportunities to make something happen and we didn't do it. Not to take anything away from Brooklyn, but this is on us."
