Blockbusters Dealt 7-0 Loss by New York
Starting pitcher Ray Schifsky was a major factor in the 7-0 New York Knickerbockers triumph over the Los Angeles Blockbusters. Ollie Hundley, credited with the save, is now 20 for 27 in save opportunities. With the win, the Knickerbockers sit at 51-49.

Andy Covarrubio had a big grand slam home run for the Knickerbockers in the bottom of the eighth inning. With New York leading 3-0 and the bases loaded, he got a changeup from Jerry Wilson and swatted a home run to left. It was his 3rd home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Knickerbockers ahead, 7-0.

Covarrubio attributed the win to "everyone pulling their weight."
