Pittsburgh Wins, 13-12, Over Bobcats
The Pittsburgh Industrials did just enough to sneak past the Cleveland Bobcats, 13-12, at Allegheny Field. Pittsburgh center fielder Carlos Chavez, in particular, had a standout performance. With the win, Pittsburgh raised its record to 59-41.

The decisive blow was delivered by Earl Yates in the bottom of the 11th when he hit a solo home run off 24-year old right-handed pitcher Steve Cheatham to win the game for Pittsburgh. The home crowd went nuts.

"This kind of game is tough on the heart," said winning manager Vincent Wicker.
