Terriers Get Clutch Win Versus Seattle
Though he had a stellar game, Don Gerwig could not prevent his team, the Seattle Emeralds, from losing, 6-5, to the Boston Terriers. Gerwig was 2-4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The 5th-place Emeralds have lost 5 straight games.

Boston needed the clutch hitting of Lou Ward to seal the deal. The second baseman swatted a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Terriers on top, 6-5. For the game, Ward had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

"There's never a lack of effort in our clubhouse. We're willing to do the little things to get the win," Ward told the Boston News.
