The Los Angeles Pobladores got a marvelous performance from pitcher Phil Lester. The left-hander kept the Dallas offense from ever getting much traction. The result was an impressive 2-1 Los Angeles victory at San Vicente Park. The Wranglers drop to 5-5 and continue their mediocre start to the 1972 season.

Leo Alexander, who was drafted in the 3rd round of the 1968 draft, chipped in a solo home run for Los Angeles in the bottom of the eighth. For the game, the left fielder had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 runs batted in.
