Hawks Lose Again, 2-1, to Drillers
|
The Drillers grabbed a win, 2-1, at Sam Houston Field, overcoming a fine effort from Chicago pitcher Steve Papa. Papa went 6.2 innings and allowed 2 runs. Jerry Pederson recorded the save, making him 3 for 4. The last-place Hawks have dropped 7 straight games.
Rich Lewis had a critical at-bat with two out in the bottom of the seventh for Houston. He came through with a run-scoring single to put Houston in front, 2-0.
"We're going through a bad spell," said Chicago manager Mike Flaherty.
