The Cleveland Bobcats beat the Cincinnati Packers, 8-5, at Lakefront Stadium. The Bobcats got a fine performance from left fielder Greg Clement, who went 2 for 3 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Ted McGuire, the winning pitcher, is now 1-3. He went 8 innings, allowing 5 runs on 10 hits, while fanning 5 and walking 0. Tommy Glantz closed it out for his 1st save.

In the bottom of the eighth, the Bobcats grabbed the lead when Clement hit his 6th home run of the season. The 3-run home run off Brian Williams made it 7-5, Cleveland.
