The Denver Burros beat the New York Knickerbockers, 4-2, at Knickerbocker Stadium. Guillaume Moret, in particular, was impressive. He was 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Manny Esparza, who led the ABL in ERA with 2.04 in 1969, earned the save for Denver. The winning streak has now reached 4 games for the Burros.
Moret had a game-changing home run in the top of the ninth. On a 0-1 cutter from Bob James, he banged a 2-run home run to right, giving the Burros a 4-2 lead. It was the 19th home run of the year for Moret.
"I felt good up there," said Moret. "I saw the ball well."
