Blockbusters Fall Short, 2-1, at Washington
|
The Washington Eagles and Los Angeles Blockbusters played a tight game with the hosts claiming a hard-fought win.
Los Angeles pitcher Larry Messenger gave the Eagles all they could handle, but in the end, Washington left Monument Field with a win, 2-1. Messenger allowed 2 runs on 5 hits over 8 innings. Richie Kingery recorded the save for Washington, his 4th of the season.
With two out in the bottom of the third, Mike Lockhart put Washington in front, 2-0, with a run-scoring single. The Eagles went on to win the ballgame.
"There are no moral victories," said losing manager John Trausch.
The Washington win streak is now 3 games.
