Northmen Lose By a Run at Chicago
The Chicago Hawks downed the Twin Cities Northmen, 1-0, at Hyde Park Stadium. Stellar pitching by Kevin Edwards had a lot to do with it. The left-hander, who is tied for 10th in the ABL in complete games with 3, handcuffed his opponent all game. Picking up his 10th save was 27-year old right-handed pitcher Ron Woods. With this game in the books, Chicago is 43-57, Twin Cities 51-51.

Chicago took a 1-0 lead on Sergio Morales's 17th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Morales hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Twin Cities pitcher Bob Freeland visibly frustrated.

"I like the grit of this ballclub," Morales said.
