Terriers Win at Seattle, 6-2
|
1967 is shaping up to be a forgettable year for the Seattle Emeralds.
The Boston Terriers got a stellar performance from pitcher Bob Schar, who handcuffed the Seattle offense en route to a win, 6-2, at Puget Field. Schar got the win, improving to 15-5. He allowed 7 hits and walked 3 over 9 innings. Schar allowed 2 runs.
It could have been a different outcome for Boston, had it not been for Ty Shriner, the 34-year old shortstop . Shriner contributed a 2-run single in the top of the sixth inning to put Boston up, 4-2.
"Bob was pounding the zone," said Boston manager Jed Placeholder.
The victory gives Boston a record of 52-49.
