Blockbusters Suffer One-Run Loss at New York
The New York Knickerbockers picked up a win at Knickerbocker Stadium, topping the Los Angeles Blockbusters, 4-3. On the mound for New York was right-hander Chris Hull. He played a principal role in the triumph. Ollie Hundley recorded the save for New York, his 21st of the season. The win gives New York a season record of 52-50.

New York second baseman Steve Wright contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With two down, he hit a changeup to right field for a 2-run single. It was his 114th hit of the season and put the Knickerbockers ahead, 4-1.

"Both teams played hard," said New York manager Timothy Widholm.
