Win Streak Now at 6 for Generals
|
The Atlanta Generals earned a win at Atlantic Station Field, knocking off the Baltimore Lords, 7-2. On the bump for Atlanta was left-hander George Palmer. He had a starring role in the triumph. Palmer, now 5-6, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 6, walking 2, and allowing 1 run. The 6th-place Generals have won 6 in a row.
Roberto Palacios, who finished 3rd in the ABL in home runs with 24 in 1974, took Baltimore hurler Kenny Wilson deep in the bottom of the fourth. His 2-run home run put the Generals on top, 2-1. In all, Palacios had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 3.
"Nice to tuck this win away," said Palacios.
