Eagles Rally to Eke Out Win
|
The Washington Eagles battled the Pittsburgh Industrials into extra innings before the outcome was decided. The Eagles won it, finally, 8-7, in 10 innings. In the game, Washington second baseman Ed Cook went 2 for 5 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. The loss makes Pittsburgh 56-44.
The Eagles got a clutch hit from shortstop Gary Long. In the bottom of the tenth, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Eagles.
"There's no quit in this team," said Eagles manager Juan Placeholder.
