Pittsburgh Nets 3-2 Win Versus Bobcats
|
The home team gave the crowd some walk-off drama.
Pittsburgh picked up a win at Allegheny Field, bumping off the Cleveland Bobcats, 3-2. Pitcher Jerry Zaruba was a major reason the Industrials emerged victorious. Ray Williams snagged the win in relief. The left-hander allowed 1 run on 3 hits over 2 innings. He's now 3-5 on the season.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Pittsburgh pinch hitter Earl Yates, facing Steve Cheatham, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Industrials the 3-2 win.
"This place was rocking at the end," Yates said.
The 'W' lifts Pittsburgh's record to 59-42.
