Northmen Spill Hawks, 7-6
|
Chicago center fielder Sergio Morales had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Morales was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2, even as Twin Cities beat the Hawks, 7-6. The winner was Ben Hall, who threw 89 pitches over 6.2 innings. The right-hander was charged with 6 runs on 7 hits. With the victory, the Northmen record stands at 46-55.
Carl Jacobs, who finished 3rd in the ABL in extra base hits with 74 in 1970, helped out the Twin Cities cause in the top of the sixth inning with a run-scoring walk. For the game, the right fielder drew 2 walks.
"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Jacobs said.
