Milwaukee pitcher Juan Mendoza had a large part in his team subduing the Kansas City Bulls, 4-1. The opposition could never mount much of a rally against the right-hander. The 6th-place Dairymen bumped their record to 45-56.

Milwaukee used the clutch hitting of Dennis Adams to snag the win. The left fielder drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Dairymen ahead, 4-1. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a crucial one.

"Makes our job easier," said Adams, "when our pitchers shut the opposition down."
