In a low-scoring contest between the Boston Terriers and the New York Empires, 22-year old right-handed pitcher Mack Sutter proved to be the difference. The Boston right-hander earned props for his performance in the 3-2 Terriers win. Boston reliever David Juarez was the winner. His record is now 5-5. Jack Pratt took the loss. The 5th-place Terriers now have a record of 46-53.
Boston took a 3-2 lead on Ralph King's 17th double of the season. The 2-run double, which King hit in the bottom of the eighth, left New York pitcher Jack Pratt visibly frustrated.
"We just didn't score enough runs to win," said New York manager Dan Whiting.
