Terriers Suffer One-Run Loss at New York
|
The New York Empires knocked off the Boston Terriers, 2-1, in American Baseball League action at Queens Field. New York pitcher and Augusta, Georgia, native Nate Frampton had an outstanding performance. Frampton picked up the win for New York, going 6 innings. He gave up no runs on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 3-4. New York occupies 4th place in the American Baseball League Eastern Division at 50-49.
In the bottom of the fifth, with the game tied, Boston allowed the Empires to go up, 1-0, on a Boston error.
"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said New York skipper Dan Whiting.
