Dominion Field was the site for American Baseball League action featuring the Toronto Hurons and Detroit Wolverines.

The Detroit Wolverines powered past the Toronto Hurons, 9-7, at Dominion Field. Duane Simmons provided some of the pop. He was 4-5 with a double and 3 singles. Paul Carter earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed 3 runs on 3 hits in 1.1 innings. He upped his record to 1-0.

Eddie Estrada came through with a big-time hit for Detroit. The pinch hitter smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to give his team the lead, 8-7. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"We got the victory," said Estrada. "That's all that matters at the end of the day."

The Wolverines bumped their record to 54-46 with this win.
