Roger Scherf, who led the NBL in wins with 21 in 1970, was locked in. The right-hander led the Cleveland Bobcats to a 7-2 win against the Pittsburgh Industrials at Allegheny Field. Cleveland is now 62-38, Pittsburgh 59-43.

Cleveland used a well-timed hit by Benito Olivas to capture the win. The second baseman socked a 2-run double in the top of the first inning to put the Bobcats ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

"We'll grab a cold beverage tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Scherf said.
