Crabtree Blisters Brooklyn
|
Denver first baseman John Crabtree could do no wrong in his team's 5-2 win over the Bluebirds, as he collected 5 hits.
"Things were in his favor in every one of his at-bats," Bluebirds skipper John Meeker said to the press corps after the game. "He got hitters' counts."
Crabtree agreed, saying that getting ahead early in the counts was "the key" to his game.
"Once you get ahead, it makes it a lot easier because you get a better pitch to hit," he said. "You know the pitcher has to come in with it. And you're ready."
John Crabtree hit an RBI double in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, hit a two-run single in the 5th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
Crabtree on the season is hitting .295 with 17 home runs. His stats include 69 RBIs and 52 runs scored.
