Los Angeles and San Diego duked it out and the Blockbusters came out victorious.

The Los Angeles Blockbusters got a strong performance from pitcher Wayne Guilmette, who stymied the San Diego offense en route to a win, 5-2, at San Diego Sporting Complex. Guilmette got the win, improving to 7-9. He allowed 10 hits and walked 1 over 7 innings. Guilmette allowed 1 run.

Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for John Horvath? The Los Angeles left fielder had a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth inning to put the Blockbusters on top, 2-1. For the game, Horvath had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Horvath said.

The Blockbusters bumped their record to 52-50 with this win.
