Pobladores Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Northmen, 6-4
|
The Los Angeles Pobladores topped the Twin Cities Northmen by a score of 6-4. Leading the way was left fielder Paul McCarthy. McCarthy went 3 for 4 with 3 singles and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Pobladores. The save was credited to Larry Seger, his 4th. Los Angeles sits at 6-5 in the early going.
Los Angeles used the timely hitting of Chuck Gunter to seize the win. The first baseman stroked a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Pobladores on top, 6-4. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Hustle and hard work is a big part of our success," said McCarthy. "Those qualities define our team."
