The Montreal Habitants locked up a win at Puget Field, knocking off the Seattle Emeralds, 5-4. On the mound for Montreal was right-hander Oscar Rodela. He played a major role in the triumph. Rodela yielded 3 runs over 8 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 1, and struck out 3. His record improves to 14-5. Al Johns notched his 25th save of the season.

Montreal needed the clutch hitting of Ed Hudson to notch the win. The third baseman hammered a grand slam home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Habitants on top, 5-1. For the game, Hudson had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

"Winning is all that really matters and we got it done today," Rodela told the Montreal Citizen.
