Pitcher Larry Haines was sensational for the Toronto Hurons in his team's 4-1 triumph over the Baltimore Lords. Haines earned the win. Al West earned the save, his 3rd, for the Hurons. The win gives Toronto a record of 6-4.

Jorge Luna, who finished 5th in the ABL in batting average with .319 last year, chipped in a solo home run for Toronto in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the center fielder had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 1 run batted in.

"The key at this level is throwing strike one," said Haines. "Successful pitchers do it."
