Wolverines Win with Late Heroics
The Detroit Wolverines gave their fans something to talk about with a thrilling, walk-off win.

The Wolverines grabbed a win, 2-1, at Wolverine Field, overcoming a fine effort from Atlanta pitcher Bill Davis. Davis went 7.1 innings and allowed 1 run. Detroit reliever Elmer Bernstein picked up the win to move to 1-1. Steve Papa suffered the loss.

The Wolverines got a clutch hit from left fielder Pete Morrison. In the bottom of the 12th, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Wolverines.

"This is a resilient bunch," said Detroit manager Alex Wobbema.

The win brings the Wolverines to 7-3, a promising start as the team looks to return to the playoffs.
