Wolverines Suffer One-Run Loss at Chicago
|
In a low-scoring contest between the Chicago Hawks and the Detroit Wolverines, Dan Lee, who is tied for 9th in the ABL in quality starts with 16, proved to be the difference. The Chicago right-hander earned props for his performance in the 3-2 Hawks win. Lee yielded 2 runs over 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 2, and struck out 10. His record improves to 9-9. Bruce Hix, credited with the save, is now 1 for 3 in save opportunities.
The Hawks benefited from a costly error in the bottom of the seventh. With Don Bozza at bat and Chicago leading 2-1, the Detroit miscue allowed Chicago to plate 1 and take the lead, 3-1.
"There are no moral victories," said losing manager Kurt Peterson.
After today's action, Chicago sits at 45-59, while Detroit falls to 52-52.
