In a high-scoring contest between Dallas and Twin Cities, left fielder Pat Simmons was a difference-maker. Simmons, who finished 2nd in the ABL in triples with 10 in 1974, distinguished himself in the 11-9 Dallas win. He went 1 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 5. Frank Dunn recorded the save, making him 16 for 18. With the win, Dallas has a record of 57-47. Twin Cities falls to 53-54.

In the top of the seventh, the Wranglers grabbed the lead when Simmons hit his 9th home run of the season. The grand slam home run off Bob Freeland made it 6-3, Dallas.

"We're trying to go out there and win games," Simmons told the Dallas Chronicle, "and we played pretty well tonight."
