Olson Pops Two Homers in 6-1 Win for New York
Irv Olson made an impact in the 6-1 New York win over Detroit. Olson, who finished 4th in the ABL in batting average with .318 in 1960, hit 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Bryant Stark picked up the win with 9 innings of work. He allowed 1 run on 7 hits, while walking 0 and striking out 4. On the season, he is now 2-0. New York goes to 3-7.

With New York leading 2-1 in the bottom of the third, Olson hit a fastball from Len Pates for a 2-run home run. It was his 2nd home run of the season and put the Empires ahead, 4-1.
