Knickerbockers Rally to Win
The rain did not keep New York and Cleveland from finishing their game.

The New York Knickerbockers cut down the Cleveland Bobcats by the score of 7-6, with the largest share of the credit going to left fielder Wayne Baker. Baker went 3 for 5 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 3 for the Knickerbockers. Bruce Owen snagged the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits over 2 innings. He's now 4-1 on the season.

Baker had a game-changing home run in the top of the 11th. On a 1-1 fastball from Steve Eaton, he banged a solo home run to right, giving the Knickerbockers a 7-6 lead. It was the 1st home run of the year for Baker.

"This kind of game is tough on the heart," said winning manager Timothy Widholm.

The victory gives New York a record of 59-44.
