Seagulls Down Northmen, 2-1
|
Starting pitcher Ray Heath gave the San Francisco Seagulls a rock-solid effort. The Mitchellville, Maryland native helped his team defeat the Twin Cities Northmen, 2-1, at Mission Field. Dan Wood was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 5 of 9 save opportunities. Twin Cities has now lost 5 in a row.
Jose Barroso drew 1 walk for San Francisco. The fan favorite had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Gerald Gross. It was his 31st RBI of the season.
"Tough loss," said Twin Cities manager Jason Gudim. "The kind that burns a little inside."
