San Diego Hangs 7-4 Loss on Milwaukee
|
Milwaukee got a terrific game from left fielder Dennis Thomas. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to San Diego, 7-4. Thomas was 2 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. San Diego pitcher Mark Pike got the win, upping his record to 7-5. Danny Guerra got the loss. Milwaukee has now lost 4 in a row.
Jorge Escobeda went 2-4 with 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for San Diego. The former first round draft pick had a key at-bat in the bottom of the second. With one out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he broke a 0-0 tie with a 2-run single off Danny Guerra. It was his 89th hit of the season.
"It's the best feeling when you come through for your teammates," said Escobeda.
