Blockbusters Suffer 8-2 Loss to Chicago
The Chicago Traders beat the Los Angeles Blockbusters by a score of 8-2. Chicago left fielder Walt McCord deserved the lion's share of the credit. McCord went 2 for 4 with a home run and a double, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once for the Traders. Larry Cox picked up the win with 7.2 innings of work. He allowed 2 runs on 7 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 4. On the season, he is now 13-10. The setback makes Los Angeles 47-58.

With Chicago trailing 2-0 in the bottom of the fourth, McCord hit a slider from Fernando Lopez for a 3-run home run. It was his 2nd home run of the season and put the Traders ahead, 3-2.

"Today was a lot of fun," said McCord.
