Knickerbockers Earn Late Win
The New York Knickerbockers gave their fans something to talk about with a thrilling, walk-off win.

The New York Knickerbockers withstood an impressive performance by Pittsburgh right fielder Lew Ward to defeat the Industrials, 5-4, at Knickerbocker Stadium. Ward went 4-4 with a triple, 3 singles, and was hit by a pitch. The New York winning streak has reached 3 games.

Ron Freeman was the walk-off hero for New York. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Knickerbockers left fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said New York manager Timothy Widholm.
