Bluebirds Beaten By Eagles, 4-2
|
George Kill was a major factor in the 4-2 Washington win over Brooklyn. The Eagles catcher went 4-5 with a home run and 3 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Earning his 17th save of the year was Richie Kingery. Today's win puts Washington at 45-62, while Brooklyn falls to 52-53.
Kill had a game-changing home run in the top of the seventh. On a 2-2 curveball from Antonio Valerio, he banged a 2-run home run to right, giving the Eagles a 4-2 lead. It was the 1st home run of the year for Kill.
After the game, Washington manager Brandon Tucker applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
