Wranglers Top Emeralds, 1-0, Behind Payne
|
Pitching was the name of the game in a tight contest between the Dallas Wranglers and the Seattle Emeralds. Dallas won it, 1-0. Dallas starter Ed Payne was in command. Frank Dunn, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 12th save. The setback makes Seattle 54-49.
Ed Payne was masterful. The left-hander allowed no runs on 4 hits over 8.1 innings.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Dallas manager William Albrecht.
