San Diego Captains starter Dave Fields turned in an exceptional performance against the Los Angeles Blockbusters at Blockbuster Stadium, resulting in a San Diego win, 8-1. The Captains, now 3-8, have not found much traction so far in 1968.

With San Diego leading 1-0 in the top of the second, Fields hit a sinker from Syed Farooqi for a bases-clearing triple. It was his 1st triple of the season and put the Captains ahead, 4-0.

"We need to string a few more wins like this one together," said Fields.
