Bulls Stun Blockbusters, 5-1
|
Kansas City Bulls starter Tom Mitchell pitched his team past the Los Angeles Blockbusters, 5-1. The Blockbusters, 5-7, continue their sluggish start to the 1972 campaign.
Detroit, Michigan-born Bobby Crankshaw came through in the clutch. In the bottom of the eighth, with the bases loaded and the Bulls trailing 1-0, he hit a 2-run single to center to put Kansas City on top.
Said losing manager John Trausch: "Give the Bulls credit. They played a better game than we did."
