New York pitcher Nate Frampton had a large part in his team beating the Atlanta Generals, 9-2. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. The winning pitcher was Frampton, now 9-9. He tossed 9 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 5 and fanning 6. With the win, the Empires have a record of 52-52.
In the bottom of the fifth inning, the Empires grabbed the lead when Danny Bueno rapped a two-out single. New York was trailing 2-1, when Bueno hit a 2-run single off Ray Seals to put his team in front, 3-2.
"We just try to have good at-bats, whether we're winning, losing, or tied," said Bueno.
