Explorers Handle Milwaukee, Snag 6-2 Win
|
Harlan Estes, who is tied for 5th in the NBL with a 5.7 K/9 rate, was locked in. The right-hander led the St. Louis Explorers to a 6-2 win against the Milwaukee Dairymen at Corps of Discovery Stadium. By defeating Milwaukee, the second-place Explorers improved to 61-46.
St. Louis took a 4-2 lead on Ken Osterhage's 21st double of the season. The 2-run double, which Osterhage hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Milwaukee pitcher Danny Guerra visibly frustrated.
Estes told a St. Louis Daily News reporter that he was "gratified" with the win.
