7-3 Loss Extends New York Losing Streak
The Detroit Wolverines picked up a win at Queens Field, downing the New York Empires, 7-3. On the mound for Detroit was left-hander Scott Litwak, who played a pivotal role in the win. The 4th-place Empires have lost 10 straight games.

Detroit used a well-timed hit by Paul Popeck to capture the win. The second baseman socked a 2-run double in the top of the third inning to put the Wolverines ahead, 2-1. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

"I know everybody in here is putting in the work," said New York manager Jose Placeholder. "It's just not paying off."
